My Students
"Creativity is intelligence having fun." - Albert Einstein
This quote perfectly describes the children I have the pleasure of teaching.
I teach a group of wonderful fourth graders in Southern California. I have the most wonderful students. They are curious, sweet, attentive, hardworking and incredibly creative. I am in awe of my students every single day. They amaze me with the questions they come up with and the topics that they would like to research.
Each day they come in with smiles and the urge to learn. I have never worked with children who were so caring and such a team. I am so thankful I moved here to work with these incredible learners.
My Project
So many of the faces on the covers of our classroom library look the same. I want students to see themselves. I want students to learn about other cultures.
Pictures books and chapter books are a beautiful way to learn about other cultures and experiences.
My students are constantly looking for a new book to read. What better way to learn about their peers, families cultures, and the world around them then with diverse pictures books and chapter books.
Not only do I want students to learn about different cultures, but I want all of my students to feel welcome in their classroom. How glorious is it to think of every single student walking up to the book shelves and finding a book that represents their specific culture? Help us obtain this goal!
