Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As I prepare to think about what I would like to add in my classroom for the upcoming school year, I immediately took upon myself to write this project to make sure that diversity is valued and respected in my classroom and school campus. One of the many reasons why I love my class is the cultural differences that my students bring each day. As a Hispanic teacher I want my students to see representation in our class library as well as in our classroom. When I was younger, the lack of representation disengaged me as I did not see myself in my classroom environment.
This project consists of posters from African American Icons, these posters not only consist of their real images but inspirational quotes that will motivate and inspire my students.
In addition, I am also requesting Hispanic Icon posters, classroom door affirmations. Please help me provide a cultural classroom where my students feel and see their culture be represented.
