The classroom you are supporting is an early childhood special education classroom. Students begin in this diverse and inclusive classroom at age three to receive early intervention for physical needs, speech and language, and socialization to prepare them for kindergarten.
This project will provide diversity to the dramatic play section of our classroom by including dolls of multiple ethnicities and special needs equipment for the dolls.
Students at this age learn first and foremost through play. This project will allow students to have dolls of multiple ethnicities and dolls with special needs along with adaptive equipment accessories (doll wheelchair, walker, guide dog) in the dramatic play area that look familiar to those they see around them every day at school.
