Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second grade students are energetic, inquisitive and innovative English Language Learners. They enjoy learning through hands-on projects, responding to visual cues, and working collaboratively to discover new ideas and skills.

They think of innovative ideas and different ways to do things.

Due to a lack of materials and equipment, my students sometimes are not able to put their fabulous ideas into action. With your help, my students will have the materials to enrich their minds. My students and I are profoundly grateful to you for your generous donation that will surely transform their eager, bright minds.

My Project

The incorporation of art into any lesson is a perfect way for children to learn about themselves and other cultures. I would like to integrate the diversity from our read aloud multicultural books, reading, and social studies curriculum into art lessons with the use of clay, colorful construction paper, felt and markers.

The addition of these new art materials will allow my students to create diverse art from their own culture and from around the world.

Learning and appreciating different cultures through art and reading offers a creative way to demonstrate their appreciation to cultures and the diversity just in our own classroom.
