Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a media specialist and SEL coordinator at Patterson Elementary. My goal is to encourage the love of reading and also help students learn to self-manage their emotions.
After COVID, many students are struggling to manage their emotions.
By having a mindfulness center, I hope to give students a chance to learn how to manage their emotions. Knowing how you are feeling and learning coping strategies is a skill everyone should have.
Practicing mindfulness is a skill that will help the students throughout their lives. These resources will provide a great start in helping students practice mindfulness.
