My Students

Each morning 34 bright and inquisitive learners enter the classroom, go to their seats, and get right to work on the day's tasks. These students see learning as fun and relevant, and they are motivated to learn each day. Nestled in a small neighborhood in San Diego, CA, we are a group of learners who are eager to contribute to our learning community each day.

We come from diverse backgrounds, speak different languages, and celebrate different holidays.

Our school strongly believes in developing well-rounded students, so we focus on building strong character through academics and the arts. We are an arts school where all students are given exposure to all areas of the fine arts, in addition to high quality academic instruction.

My Project

Students love talking about social issues, and right now the need for diverse reading material is more important than ever! I strive to keep students engaged in these conversations through literature and non-fiction texts with a balanced and diverse library.

The books I have selected for this project have been carefully chosen with my students' interests in mind.

Your donation will help update and further diversify my library.

In addition, a Teacher's Pay Teacher's gift card would allow me to purchase supplemental materials that will help my students process, analyze, and present the novels they read. There are many literature experts who have designed engaging material for students to respond to and share the literature they read.
