My Students

The 5th-grade students at our school come from a variety of backgrounds. They are enthusiastic about learning and like many 5th graders, they are very social! They work hard and want to do their very best each day at school.

We are a Title I elementary school located in Richmond, Virginia.

We are a school on the grow with a lot of potential. Please contribute to our success!

My Project

Our students are returning to the classroom after being home for COVID. They may have not been allowed to go out much during that time. Reading stories about kids that look like them and share their experiences will foster a life long love of reading.

Seeing your life experience shared with a character in a book creates a connection that lasts forever.

I believe that having a diverse classroom library is important because when students identify with the stories they are reading they are able to gain a deeper understanding of the message being conveyed.

Our current classroom library is missing representation from many different groups and cultures. Please help us fall in love with books!
