Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Create a library that represents the faces in my classroom. Students are drawn to stories that depict parts of themselves and their culture. Help inspire the children in my class through books by creating a diverse library of books that includes novels about Native Americans, people of the Philippines, Latinx, and more communities.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that represent their backgrounds at their own grade level.

These books will act as extra novels for free time and activities and primary literature in the classroom including an entire class set of novels.

The books pair well with a few basic supplies (pencils, colored pencils) that will support students throughout the school year.
