This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a second grade ESL teacher in a dual language program. This school year, my content area is English and math. Most of my students have been learning English and Spanish since pre-kindergarten! Many of my students' native language is Spanish.
My students work diligently every day to learn to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish.
I would like to provide access to a digital classroom. My students would greatly benefit from having alternative technology options to utilize in my classroom or at home. Most of my students do not have access to technology of their own at home. We are definitely in dire need of virtual contact, as we are not able to attend school right now.
My Project
Currently, we are in the remote learning zone. Some of my students are still waiting for technology.
My goal is to get every student the technology they need for learning remotely.
I use Google slides, Nearpod and other district provided applications to present our Math, English Language Arts, Phonics, and Reading objectives.
I am trying to supply a few pieces of technology for those who have not been able to join us remotely.
We need to close this digital divide so that students can continue to learn, even if they are home
We, honestly, do not know how long this situation will last. Our district should return face-to-face mid-October. Parents in our district may choose to continue to learn remotely. Please, help me provide technology for those who choose remote learning.
When students do not have technology at home they are not able to get the full experience of the lesson plans I have created for the remotely learning environment.
