Help expose my students to diverse people and cultures from around the world! America is a melting pot and unfortunately, my students are not familiar with cultures outside of their own.
My students are general and special education students who attend a Title I New York Public school in Brooklyn, NY.
The students in my classroom have such a love for reading and use every opportunity they have to visit the class library to read. I want to make sure that my students have a selection of books that will expose them to different cultures and people from around the world.
My Project
I am requesting 18 multicultural books so that I can introduce my students to diverse people and cultures that make up our world. These 18 books is a terrific set of books that celebrates the many qualities that people all over the world share and the differences that make everyone unique!
The 18 multicultural books that I have requested will increase my students' understanding of others.
I want my students to be sensitive to diverse people. It is important that my students learn that no two people are alike and the differences amongst people is what makes them special.
