My Project
My students represent the many diverse faces of this world. And their taste in books is equally as diverse. Help me share a greater variety of literature with them so that every one of them can find books that reflect them and interest them, no matter their reading level.
Our school is a public school in a high poverty area, with a very diverse student population.
There are roughly 30 languages spoken in the homes of our students. Many of our students come from families struggling to meet even basic needs. Yet our students eagerly come in every day, ready for new discoveries and new challenges. I love seeing them become enthralled in a book they have chosen to read that they just can't put down. I want them to have access to good quality books no matter their reading level. I want them all to feel represented and see their personalities reflected in the books in my classroom library.
