Help me give my students a diverse library. I teach minority students and I would love for them to see themselves on the cover of the books they read.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently a kindergarten teacher who will be moving to 5th grade next year. The school where I have the privilege of serving as an educator is a Title I school. Many of our students come from single parent homes and surviving off of one parent home incomes.
These students are not only the smartest kids I know, but also the strongest.
Many of these students reside in low socioeconomic housing. These students also struggle with hunger and safety. However, many of these students strive for excellence. Our students are resilient and are some of the brightest kiddos I know.
My Project
The books I chose will provide my students with a diverse library. I would love for my students to be able to go into our classroom library and see themselves on the cover of a book. Many of my students love to read; however, they do not see themselves on the book covers.
I would love for my students to be exposed to minority authors and minority books.
These books I have selected will allow just for that. Students will be able to relate more to the stories. Students will also be able to read about themselves in the stories.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
