Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come to school excited and eager to learn. Many of them do not have a strong literary background and have not had stories read to them before. They are excited to meet new characters and hear different types of stories throughout the year. A variety of book genres in the classroom helps develop crucial literary skills and sets the students up for success in the future.

Most importantly, books help my students learn acceptance, kindness, diversity, and many other social-emotional concepts.

It is also important my students are represented in the books they are reading. Diverse characters and culturally responsive books should be included in every classroom library. With your help, I hope is to give my students a variety of books to help teach these essential social-emotional skills.
