This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am the librarian at a K-5 Dual Language school. No matter their home language, all of our students read, write and speak both English and Spanish. Our community is both linguistically and culturally diverse which is one of the many things that I love about working at our school.
My Project
My school is a fantastic school full of students with diverse backgrounds and experiences. It is critical to provide a diverse selection of books that reflect both the local community and the world around us.
Developing and growing a library is always challenging and we continue to curate a collection of books on diverse topics in our school library.
We would like to continue to grow our collection books written by or about individuals who have diverse cultures and experiences. The books in this collection reflect voices that we would like to make available to our students now and in the future.
