Our school welcomes students from various diverse backgrounds. Together, we form a community and classroom culture that cultivates the love for learning. Each day, students build on others' strengths and learn from one another. Working as a team to succeed, students continuously motivate and encourage their friends to reach their highest potential.
Each day, students enter my class ready to learn with smiles on their faces.
Their eagerness to read, learn, and apply their new knowledge makes my day and job that much more rewarding. I strive to provide the materials that each of them needs to learn, grow, and develop into the most successful individuals they can possibly be.
My Project
Building an engaging classroom library is of the utmost importance for most teachers.
Building a diverse classroom library where all students are represented and can also learn about other cultures is extremely important, but very difficult.
Often times, I find books at garage sales, buy them at discount stores, or am gifted books from others. While I love and appreciate these books, they often aren't a diverse set of books.
My goal is to feature more books in my classroom that include cultures from around the world. Not only will my students see themselves represented in these books, they will also be able to share stories, teach their peers, and feel a sense of pride when sharing their stories.
