Help me give my students new and diverse books for the school year.

My Students
My students are excited to learn and gain new experiences. They love asking questions and learning about varying perspectives and cultures. I love how willing my students are to discuss difficult topics and be open and honest during class discussions.
My Project
By adding The Handmaid's Tale to the curriculum, we will be able to expand our class discussions about topics that are happening in the world today and read books that are inclusive and diverse.
Students will use these books both at school and at home as part of a larger unit on Identity and one's impact on the world.
Currently, we have very few books by women authors or even with female protagonists. This book will have a significant impact on the way students understand the world around them and show them a different voice.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
