My Project

My students are a community of learners with diverse backgrounds. They thrive on challenges. They learn best with hands-on activities that incorporate 21st-century skills including collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. My students learn best when they work collaboratively with one another and tackle a task that requires them to use their ingenuity.

My third graders are a truly amazing group of learners who work together well, enjoy challenges, love to learn, and need books with diverse characters that reflect who they are.

My school has approximately 500 students in a suburban area with diverse cultural backgrounds. A percentage of students travel to the school from an inner city area which adds to the culturally diverse population of learners. My students need to see connections in their learning to the real world, as well as to "see" themselves in the classroom books that surround them. They are a fun group to teach, and I love them to pieces!

This project is for two magnetic shelves and a collection of diverse books.
