My Students
I teach a wonderful group of third graders who defeat the odds every day. My school is a Title I school where almost every child deals with poverty. However, they come to school ready to learn and excited for the day! They cherish and appreciate everything given to them and they work super hard. In my classroom, we love to read and use our books to explore different places. Some of my students have never went past our town limits and I want to give them the opportunity to explore in our classroom!
My Project
These books will make a HUGE difference in these students' lives by letting them explore new places and meet new people all from the comfort of our classroom. Many students in my classroom have not been outside of our state, so I want to show them the world through reading.
Each book has been selected to make a difference in a students life so that they can see what all they are capable of. My hope is that these books will shed a light on everything they can accomplish, and they take those words and run with them.
Having diverse readers in a diverse setting is a huge blessing and I know these books will have an impact on the students!
