Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students attend a school located in the South Bronx. It is a Title I school that has been greatly impacted by the current pandemic. With the unpredicted budget cuts we do not want our students' education to be affected by the given circumstances.
Our students thrive inside and outside the classroom even when they face such hardships.
They are loving, kind, caring, creative, and motivated to learn. We believe reading is the magic key to take you were you want to be. Reading allows our students to discover a new unknown world and escape from reality.
My Project
Imagine a world in which all children can see themselves in the pages of a book. We all need to see ourselves in books. Help us give the joy of being lost in a good book to our students.
Books are the window to the world around us and gives us a glimpse of different cultures.
By giving children diverse books we will open up so many doors for our students that will help them become better readers and grow a love for reading! We will also develop rich discussions and create a class room environment where we celebrate diversity.
