This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First Grade is such a crucial time for children when it comes to their foundational skills in ALL academic areas!

Literacy is so important!

I am very confident that my scholars will be able to show growth and fall in love with learning as they practice and develop their decoding in phonics as well as engaging in rich and diverse texts!

Coming from hard working families, I know that my student's families don't always have the time or expendable income to support the needs of our classroom, but having the right resources and tools during literacy small groups and stations are crucial to student engagement and development!

Many of these tools can even be given to my little scholars to use and practice at their homes!

My goal as an educator is to provide my scholars with the best resources and tools to promote engagement, success, and a love of learning!

My Project

Please help me to provide my 1st grade super scholars with diverse books! Distance learning as you can imagine has its ups and downs, but there is something about a rich and diverse book that can truly brighten up my student's day!

Everyone deserves to have access to texts that show not only the beauty in themselves, but the beauty in others too!

My project is very simple. I want to shower my students with books to help them to find joy, and comfort during uncertain times.

No matter what goes on in this world, I want my students to know that they can pick up a good book and become immersed in that story. How cool would it be to give my students books that they ALL have access to read together! They deserve to have the experience, of pure excitement from reading and sharing rich and diverse stories.
