This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been at my school for 16 years because I love the community and students! Last year was the first year our school library was open since the schools were shut down in the pandemic.
These diverse books will be great additions to read during Black History Month and all year long!
Please help fill our shelves with diverse books to match our diverse student population!
Our school library had been neglected for many years. Most of the books in the library were 20 plus years old. My goal for this year is to have a collection of 8,000 books for our 700 students. I also want to drop the average age of the books to 10 years. Having a full and updated library collection will inspire more students to checkout and read books.
