This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Fourth-grader (Noun) \fȯrth grā-dər\ - Someone who is a mathematician, reader, writer, artist, scientist, dancer, leader, explorer, and friend. - Someone who needs access to technology, high-quality books and an inclusive place to learn.
My fourth graders are curious and they try hard--really hard.
They love to read, write, explore, and find answers to questions. Did you know that they are also bilingual, bicultural, and biliterate? They speak, read, and write in two languages, English and Spanish. That also means that during the school day, they learn in both languages.
My Project
Distance learning has been quite challenging on my students and families (and everyone really). The hardest part has been giving ALL my students equal access to highly engaging literature, so they can continue reading at home. The books requested on this project reflect the diversity of my class. My students will not only SEE themselves on the books they receive, they will love reading them.
Every educator agrees on the importance of daily reading, and NOW it is more important than ever.
Help me give my students access to books for them to keep and home. The books requested on this project will be for students TO KEEP and therefore, share with their families.
