Diverse and Struggling Readers: Listening Centers!
My students need 5 junction boxes and 16 headphones for a listening center for those who cannot read at grade level but want to be able to participate regardless!

My Students
The wonderful students in our classroom range in reading level! Some cannot read books at the 4th/5th grade level but deserve to be part of classroom discussions about these books.
The students in my room are 75% free and reduced lunch recipients, and come from a variety of backgrounds.
They speak different languages at home and come to school to build their academic skills in a supportive environment so that they can fulfill their families dreams as well as their own personal dreams.
My Project
Your donation of a complete listening center to the students in my classroom will help them bridge differences in academic levels and provide support for struggling readers. Although they may not be able to read the text, the students in my classroom have wonderful insights, ideas and reflections on the literature we read.
