Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
CIHS is a Title I school for students who have recently immigrated to the United States and are multilingual learners. Many of our students are struggling readers and are working to build their decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension skills.
This project is designed to help students to develop their language and literacy skills at school and at home.
Students will be encouraged to borrow the diverse books in this collection to bring home to read to their family members, including their younger siblings. We will also introduce the project during special literacy events for families to build support and enthusiasm for the project.
