Some of my students think they are not readers or writers, but I plan to show them through various text and other sources, that they ALL have stories to tell.
My first graders are bright, energetic, and hard working kiddos.
My school fosters the idea of a strong community that extends beyond the classroom. Our school always tries to give students new and unique opportunities to learn about the world around them.
My Project
My students need books for our classroom library and reading lessons, a bookshelf for the books, magnetic hooks and headphones to listen to books. My students will use these books in various ways. Seeing them use books to write about the characters and connect their personal experiences to the text will be great. My students will learn that writing "hides" virtually everywhere and it's up to us, as readers of writing and as writers, to keep the tradition going. They will also read the text to help build fluency and reading skills.
By donating to our project, you are delivering opportunities to read into a classroom with limited resources.
Students will gain a better sense of the world around them which they don't or can't always seek out on their own. Thank you in advance for ALL your help.
