This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in a low-income community with an amazing group of wonderful 3rd grade students! Due to Covid-19 my students didn't take all their materials needed because we thought we were just going to be out for 2 weeks. Little did we know!
My students need materials to continue their distant learning.
They have run out of the basic materials and need more to last them through the summer. These donations will definitely help them in their learning.
My Project
Due to Covid-19, it is important that my students are able to receive tools that will help them not just in my classroom, but as they go on to the next grade level. Since my students are doing a lot of screen time, it is important that they protect their eyes while doing so. That is why I feel that the blue light blocking glasses will provide that protection. Furthermore, the white board and markers will also allow them to show their work and thinking when presenting it to their classmates on flipgrid.
My students would benefit from these tools because it is something that will not only benefit them now, but further on.
Especially since we are uncertain on when schools will reopen or if we have to close schools if a second wave occurs.
