My Students
My students are learning Korean as a second language and most of my students are non-heritage students. Since the remote learning stated, it has been really challenging to teach them the writing of Korean words. They need to see me write each syllable, a stroke at a time so they can master the writing skills but with the remote learning, I have been typing through google meeting and it is limiting my students to learn writing skills. Thus, I am planning to send a care package with laminated grammar rules, Native and Sino Korean numbers, key terms from each chapter, and a note from me. I hope they feel connected with teachers and thoughtful people like you.
My Project
Since the Remote Learning started in NYC, many students are struggling to learn many subjects including language. Learning Korean as a second language is a big challenge for my students since most of them are non-heritage students. They need help more than ever. I need to provide clear and simple instructions with efficient tools such as the boogie board and the smart notebook so they can see me writing Korean words, step-by-step. Thus, I want to send them a care package home so they can use the materials to master Korean at home. I will laminate charts and tables of Korean grammar, numbers, family terms, and key terms from each chapter.
