My Students
My students are part of the Academy of Information Technology, a four-year Information Technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles(Year 4).
We are a STEM / STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.
Currently, the Academy of IT has just under 200 students in grade 9-12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM / STEAM into the curriculum to allow students to have a cross-curriculum instruction that incorporates their core subject areas.
My Project
Hello, this project is for an iPad Pro that I would use for teaching during distance learning and beyond when we return to the classroom. This iPad Pro and Apple Pencil will allow me to not only use it as a whiteboard when presenting to students online. It will allow for a better way to take attendance, capture photos and videos, make video clips, and download educational apps to better prepare and experience for distance learning.
I want to give my students the best possible experience during this difficult time.
Distant learning is not just sitting in front of a screen listening to your teacher, It needs to be engaging, motivating, and fun for students.
This Apple iPad will allow me to engage better with students, share the iPad screen with students so I can show a "whiteboard" that is clear and easy to read. I would also like to use the iPad Pro in our Photoshop/Graphic Design class to show students the possibilities and alternative apps to complete assignments.
