Distance School Counseling Project

Help me give my students Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, books, and other Tier 1 counseling supports during COVID-19 through reading aloud and mindfulness activities.

My Students

Our students are learning from home through distance learning for the rest of the year and will return, in some capacity (could be online), August 17th, 2020. Our students are currently using Google classroom and Google Meets to engage in learning for their core academics as well as school counseling. Our students need to have a reason to be engaged in online counseling activities so they can continue to develop coping skills, especially now during distance learning and social distancing.

My Project

These materials will allow me to do recorded readings, read aloud on Google Meets, download resources from TPT to use on Google Classroom, and be able to help my students learn their strengths and cope with the current world around them. The resources from TPT will allow us to do activities on Google Classroom, presentations on Google Meets, and even be able to be used when we return to the classroom as well.

I will have some sources to split between K-5 and be able to support my students by providing breathing techniques, positive stories, stories of strengths, stories of emotions, and stories of connections.

Providing a positive outlook and focus on internal strength as well as coping mechanisms can help students as they work through going through COVID-19.

The purpose of all these materials is so that students will learn coping skills that can help them both with distance learning and in the classroom but also with family and friends. These materials will be used to support their social/emotional needs and wellness.
