Help me give my students an iPad, so they can do all the things that are necessary to become successful in the classroom and during distance learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The first day of kindergarten is a major transition in all young children’s lives. As a new Kindergarten teacher, I am doing my best to make this transition as fun and engaging as possible. My new students are excited little ones full of energy because most of them are in school for the first time. I have been teaching for 18 years in the same public school that is located in a city where we have a 90 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged population and 4 percent foster youth.
My Project
Distance learning can be a challenge due to the lack of technical skills in many of my students' households. This challenge can be overcome with your help.
An iPad would allow me to be able to help and assist my students by showing them how to navigate and become familiar with the iPads that they are using.
I will be better equipped to assist my students virtually if we all have the same device. The iPad will allow me to show videos. It will also allow me and my students to record ourselves singing songs and practicing our letters and sounds. The iPad has a screen feature that will allow us to write on the screen like a chalkboard. I will use this whiteboard to teach math and how to write letters and words. My students will then be comfortable and successful with virtual and distance learning. I only have an Apple laptop and using Zoom or Schoology is difficult because the way the information is displayed on the screen is different in a laptop than in an iPad.
The iPad will also be a great addition to our classroom once we are able to go back to school. The iPad will be used during our small group instruction and independent work time.
