This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing and love to learn! I teach 3rd-5th graders with a variety of intellectual, physical, and sensory impairments. In the classroom, our learning is comprised of hands on, interactive, fun and engaging activities with the guidance of adult support.
My Project
Working with special needs children means always adapting to the environment. The items on my list will help my students access lessons during distance learning since we will not be returning physically to school. The virtual aspect of our learning will only be a portion of our day. We will use a variety of tactile implements during our distance learning experiences as well. I will continue to help my students reach their academic goals although we are not physically in the classroom. These items will help both parents and students minimize the cost school supplies. The use of the dry erase boards is a great way to save on paper! The dry erase boards will help my students share their responses during our virtual learning sessions. The magnetic letters will help students with their fine motors skills through a series of matching activities as well as improve their abilities to form words. Each student will receive a set of crayons , erasers and pencils for their use at home.
