This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is full of 25 multi-faceted students with varied interests and personalities. From technology to animals, they are always eager to learn new things. Our school is the heart of their neighborhood. Some of my students come from challenging home environments but my welcoming classroom is their second home.

My students need resources to help their transition to online learning go smoothly.

Right now, our physical classroom is just a memory, Zoom is our new classroom. Only a quarter of my class get to see each other on Zoom because circumstances out of their control (multiple siblings sharing device, parent's scheduling, lack of wifi). However, all of them find a way to turn in work by the end of the week. My students are continuing to prove themselves to be hard workers, even in these unpredictable times.

My Project

The students in my classroom transitioned greatly into Distant Learning. They continued to turn in assignments and meet weekly with their classmates for online lessons from me .

I've learned so many new ways to enhance my students experience with Online Learning so me transition from classroom teacher to online teacher.

These resources will help me produce quality visuals for engaging lessons.

My students have voiced how they miss being called to the carpet for their daily read aloud of a picture book. I plan to use the document camera to continue to read aloud picture books, ensuring the students are able to still be exposed to literacy although away from the classroom.
