it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher serving a low income area, there are specific challenges that my students face both in and out of the classroom. These eager and excited young students come to school everyday ready to learn and happy to explore. Unfortunately, situations beyond their control threaten their success on a daily basis.
Many of my students have a difficult time securing the basic supplies they'll need for daily use.
For this reason, my projects on DonorsChoose are of vital importance to my students. I believe that it is my duty to provide these exceptional young thinkers the best opportunities that I possibly can. My diverse group of dedicated and inquisitive students will get the chance they deserve with the help of these resources.
My Project
I am requesting mice to use with chromes books for at home learning this fall. With Philadelphia schools transitioning to a majority of online learning, first graders need a lot of support in order to engage full with the content. There are so many great websites and programs that allow students to draw, click and drag and use other interactive features that are really difficult on the trackpad.
6 and 7 year olds don't yet have the dexterity required to successfully use the trackpad for the various activities we complete online.
Using a mouse will help them engage with online learning in a way that is developmentally appropriate.
