This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a unique school whose mission is to bring Montessori education to students in an urban environment. We are a diverse classroom, which brings together students from the inner-city with students from the surrounding suburban towns. Our classroom is made up of 25 students in grades 4-6.

Our goal as a classroom is to treat each other as a family, and we use the Montessori philosophy as our backbone to do so.

We are a classroom that works together to create an inviting and comfortable space where all students can learn.

My Project

I am running a distance learning classroom for 27 students this year. I am looking to create the best distance learning environment possible for both students and teachers. Having an air purifier in our physical classroom will help the teachers feel more safe and comfortable in their working space. The ring light will help make teacher faces more visible to students during both synchronous and asynchronous video lessons. Lastly, some of our students do not have headphones at home to use with their school issued devices. Providing them with headphones will help them focus on our lessons in what could possibly be a distracting home environment.
