Distance Learning Supplies for Kindergarten

My Students

My kindergarten class is an amazing group of diverse learners. I work with students from many different cultural backgrounds, with some students speaking up to 3 languages. I also teach students with special needs who need additional resources and support. My goal as their teacher is to differentiate my instruction to meet their needs, whether I am teaching math or social skills. Everyday I work to build a classroom community where all students are respected, encouraged, and included.

Kindergarten is a crucial year in a child's academic and social/emotional development, and I strive to be the best teacher for each of my students.

There is no other job I could imagine doing. I am grateful to DonorsChoose for connecting me to so many wonderful people and organizations who want to help my classroom succeed this year and every year.

My Project

Our kindergarten class is now on its 5th week of distance learning and I could not be more proud of my little 5 and 6-year-olds. Their first year of school is starting on the computer and they are working so hard! The school and school district has done their best to supply basic materials for my students. But now that school has started, I have seen exactly what other materials my kids need.

These resources are all things my kids are missing in their distance learning home supplies, but greatly need in order to learn and be successful in kindergarten.

I need to get kindergarten level books in my kids hands as soon as possible. I also need to get them journals with paper that is appropriate for their writing abilities. The kids need math manipulatives they can touch and count instead of just see on the computer. And I would really love to get them styluses since they are learning how to write and hold a pencil for the very first time, and so much of our work is digital.
