My Students
Third grade this year will be different from any other year for my third grade students. Due to Covid-19, my third graders will be integrating technology and navigating distance learning on a daily basis. Their constant curiosity, perseverance, and sense of community demonstrates a love and joy that constantly inspires me as their teacher. As a group and a class, we are family and learning community, despite being at a distance. I am constantly impressed how they rise to occasion on every challenge and with amazing resiliency.
They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures including second language learners and military families.
I teach my 23 students in all core subjects. I believe my students should have a true voice in their learning and many opportunities for making their own choices. They need your help reaching their full potential!
My Project
As a teacher navigating distance teaching and learning due to Covid-19, I have an extreme need to use a variety of technologies to support direct instruction and student learning on a daily basis.
I will be working hard to plan and create unique and engaging lessons that support my students various academic and social emotional needs.
It will require time and dedication, but I know that the iPad, Smart keyboard, and Apple pencil will be an incredible resource for me to become more creative with my lessons.
After the Covid-19 crisis is over and we are back in the classroom, the iPad will be used as a learning tool that will help English language learners translate texts and other materials. It will also be used to help facilitate technology education in a variety of forms including project-based learning.
