This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is where my students begin their educational careers! As Transitional Kinder and Kindergarten students, this will be most of their first experiences in a classroom setting. They will not only learn to read, write, and count. They will start to develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills through facilitated instruction and play.
My class consists of 25 students who come to school eager to learn.
My job is to do whatever it takes to make that happen!
My Project
My kindergarten students are now learning to read through distance learning. Many of the activities we do, as teachers, to help them blend sounds together are easier when I am physically there to show them and move letters together to show them how they are put together to make words. This has been a struggle online.
Having these materials in their hands to manipulate on their own would be the closest method to being in the classroom.
Children learn by doing, so this would give them the materials to do that. The flashcards, calendar activities, and journals will be a great way to practice all parts of reading. Please help my students get what they need.
