Help me give my students a box of their OWN supplies. Help me give them hands on reading materials. In a time like this, we need your help more than ever.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Olson's classroom raised $1,208
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are some of the most creative, fun, loving, WONDERFUL kids that I have ever met. My students have special needs, they come from low-income house holds in a community that has been tremendously impacted by the COVID-19 virus and the effects of George Floyd's passing. These times are challenging for these young kids who are confused and overwhelmed by so much change and uncertainty.
When schools will reopen remains uncertain.
When they do it will look a whole lot different. Students will be unable to share supplies that are provided by their teachers. They will be required to purchase their own. This may not seem like a huge deal, but in a school where students receive free and reduced lunches and in a classroom where visual and hands-on learning is essential...it is a big deal.
Please help me make school seem as normal as possible by donating to our kids. I will use this money to buy materials and supplies for each individual student. I will send the materials to their homes to use if schools remain closed in the fall. If schools reopen, they will have their OWN supplies. WE NEED YOU!
My Project
Visual and hands on learning is essential when teaching students, especially those with disabilities. These students need supplies, they need objects to manipulate, they need resources! How is this possible when schools are shut down? How is this possible when if schools reopen they can only use what they bring?
We will NOT ALLOW this pandemic to take over children's right to an adequate education.
With your help, students will have reading blocks, notebooks, folders, crayons, etc. of their OWN. Without your help a "normal" education would not be possible. Our children deserve the best. They deserve opportunities to be creative. They deserve more than a piece of paper and a pencil.
Please donate. I cannot do it without you. Thank you for your time!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
