Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a group of 35 fifth and sixth grade students in East San Diego County. My students are resilient and face every challenge they meet head on. They are positive role models who want to make changes in the world for the better. They are kind, generous, and share their hearts with each other and their community.
This year, we are learning through distance learning.
I want my students to be able to stay connected, be engaged and motivated, and make growth to reach their learning goals. I want to provide my students with the structure and environment they would experience in my classroom although they will be learning from home.
My Project
During distance learning, it is going to be harder than ever to keep students engaged in school and continually keep them learning!
By having a prize wheel, students will have an opportunity to earn points and prizes by participating in online discussions and classwork.
The wireless doorbell will help me signal when groups can break up or come back together. Additional items such as the glow sticks will be sent to their houses so we can still have fun days like our Neon Read On, even while they are home!
