Distance Learning - Is Still Learning!

Help me give my students distance learning kits. I have chosen the School Essentials Kit because it includes a dry erase board, dry erase markers, and an eraser necessary for online learning, as well as other needed supplies.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Allow me to introduce my amazing 2nd graders. I have a wonderfully diverse group of excited learners. They are excited to learn more about adding and subtracting, reading, and science! Under the circumstances, they are ready to learn and are very serious about their educations.

Every time their faces appear on my computer screen their eyes are bright with anticipation, happy to have screen time with me and their classmates.

Not every situation for every student is ideal, but their tenacity for learning is unwavering.

My Project

As of Wednesday, August 19th, my school district made the decision to continue remote, online learning until as least the end of the semester. After completing a full week of interactive online teaching, it is apparent that students do not have all of the supplies needed to make online learning meaningful. The kit I am requesting for my students has all of the necessary supplies needed, including a dry erase board, dry erase markers, and erasers.

These items will improve their learning significantly because they are able to interact with the teacher and each other during math talks and ELA lessons.

The kit also includes other items such as construction paper, markers, scissors, and a glue stick, so that their learning is not limited to just core subjects.

With the extra supplies, my students may have the opportunity to use their imaginations and creativity in ways they might not be able to without those supplies.
