Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My wonderful high achieving students come from a low socioeconomic neighborhood near Los Angeles. They often have many family members living in a small apartment. They do not have access to materials due to the financial burdens of their parents. Many of their parents are working at jobs that earn minimum wage or below. They are not always able to buy them basic school supplies and materials for learning. I would love to begin the school year with materials for them to guarantee a successful third grade year!
My Project
My students are learning from home. I am hoping these materials will allow them to work on their writing and improve their grammar skills. Many of my students are second language learners, and having a prompt for writing and a graphic organizer will allow them to scaffold their learning. The whiteboard erasers will allow them to use the wipe off boards to participate in class and allow me to give feedback.
Please help me motivate my amazing 3rd graders and give them the materials to succeed until we return to school.
