This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every year I’m blessed to receive a wonderful new crop of excited, happy learners on the first day of school. This year, the first day of school is going to look and feel very different. My students all qualify for free meals and it is very hard for them to buy basic school supplies. They struggle with basic necessities on a daily basis and could use some extra help! Many have learning disabilities so I have requested supplies to help keep them organized and able to color code material in our daily lessons on Zoom so that it will be more comprehensible for them. It’s my hope to make this transition go smoothly for my incredible students!
My Project
My students are always fabulous but with our school being Title I with 100% of the students on free lunch, there often is not extra money for school supplies....especially now with many parents out of work. I’m hoping that having the school basics provided to them they will be able to grow and learn during this trying time in education.
My hope for our new school year is to bring my students into distance learning as comfortably as possible with pencils, erasers, glue, notebooks and more .
Please help my students and I build the classroom family they deserve.
