Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are full of curiosity and an endless amount of energy and excitement. Reading, doing worksheets, listening to a lecture, or watching a video is not the way the majority students learn. Group activities such as dissections promote cooperation, teamwork, and communication skills among students.
Dissection kits will give students a tactile hands-on approach to the study of organs that, when linked to theoretical knowledge found in the reference mats and reference materials, will lead to better comprehension.
Dissections also help students identify and compare organs, understand the structure and fuction of organs, how organs work together to maintain homeostasis, and explore comparative anatomy between different species. Dissections also may lead to interest in careers in science or health fields.
