My Students

Resources are expensive and money is tight! I work for an inner-city school district that is trying to balance an annual budget and keep its doors open.

I teach a wonderful group of gifted and talented students who love to learn.

The focus of our 4th quarter curriculum is ecosystems and environmental consciousness, and we need some hands-on, exciting resources to aid in our ongoing learning. The Internet can only be used so often, and then it becomes another boring tool.

My Project

I would love to get my students some interesting fossil molds, a quiz game on predator and prey, a soil testing kit and a current science magazine resource for their ongoing learning. After getting out the computers, dealing with log in, errors and web searches that come up short of being age-related or curriculum-appropriate, a nice set of Science World magazines are just what our classroom needs.

Disney would like to match funds for environmental-related projects and that's just what we need to make these materials a reality for an eager group of middle school science learners.
