Disney Helps Students Build Responsibility Through Recycling

This year, I am lucky enough to be working with multi-age, multilevel students.

My English Language Learners will range from second graders to fifth graders. Our school is located I'm a suburban Michigan neighborhood. We are super excited to learn, grow, and become lifelong learners!

My Project

Our school has been very fortunate in the past two years in achieving the status of "Green School". In our district, that means we are making every effort to keep green. One of our building wide initiatives is to use less paper and to recycle the paper that is consumed in our classrooms. For this reason, I am requesting several types of recycling bins--some for paper and some for plastic water bottles. I am also requesting a shredder. While we do want to recycle and teach the children responsibility, we also want to keep certain papers private for confidentiality. In using a shredder, we will be able to dispose of important papers properly. My vision is to eventually have my students be responsible for picking up recycling papers from other classrooms around the school.

Your support towards this project for a shredder and recycling bins, will help my students learn to be responsible and respectful to the environment.

Not only here at school, but transferring over their new knowledge in their home as well.
