This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a fun, loving, caring bunch. They are enthusiastic and excited to be at school every day. They love to play with friends, dance, be silly, learn and stick to their routine. My classroom population is comprised of students with moderate to severe disabilities ranging from speech and language impairments to autism. All of my kiddos learn in a variety of ways and need different supports and services to help them grow and make progress!
My Project
My classroom is set up in a rotation schedule fashion, and within my rotations, there is a "purple center." This is my discovery and library center where students are able to read books and play with kinetic sand. My kiddos are in need of more materials within the center to be motivated to stay in the center and engaged in it. The trampoline and couch will give them the energy release they need. The rug will help them distinguish the purple center from others. A new discovery of mine is my students' love for puzzles; they stay engaged and concentrated when solving the puzzles. The kinetic sand I currently have is not in the best condition anymore, and the toys on here are for the sand so that they have options when playing with it. Other materials will aid them in stay in the center and engaged! Thank you so much for your consideration in helping my kiddos! We appreciate you!
