Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of the hardest questions my seniors face is, "What do you plan to do next?" While some students have an idea of what their next move might be, others have no idea where to start. Over the summer, I collaborated with our school guidance counselor to build a new English class at our continuation high school that guides seniors through the process of figuring out their next moves and setting them up for success. But one key piece was missing from our curriculum: a book!
Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist is a beautiful story full of inspiration, and reminders about staying present, and never giving up on your dreams.
As we pursue career options, explore colleges, and consider military service, I wanted to share this story with students who are still figuring it out.
