This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My preschool students are children who are three to five years of age. My school is in sunny San Pedro, California. The children from San Pedro come to school each morning ready to learn and grow. There is never a dull moment in our class; my students are busy bees moving from one interest area to another. They are eager to learn, explore, and experiment with the instructional materials and centers I set up for them. We need more materials for the children to engage with, materials that will foster their interest in technology, literacy, math, science, art, and engineering.

My Project

The science viewers will serve to satisfy my young student's natural curiosity. They will have the opportunity to discover, talk about and ask question about the amazing nature photos. The Speedy Snow will give my student's the opportunity to participate in the science experiment of making the snow like sensory powder and as they engage with it, it will help facilitating the building of descriptive vocabulary words. The Science Kit and set of Giant Horseshoe magnets will give my student's unlimited exploration and discovery opportunities. They will test and discuss basic properties of magnetism, such as what is magnetic/what is not, the force and strength of magnets.
