"What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?" -Henry David Thoreau. My students need meaningful, hands-on experiences to learn valuable lessons to help them make a positive impact in our world.
I teach kindergarten in South Carolina.
The student population is culturally diverse and comes from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. Knowing that these students have different needs, I work hard to make sure that all of my students have what will help them grow and learn to the best of his/her ability.
My Project
My students will be able to explore with hands-on learning through the theme boxes I am requesting. The theme boxes focis on topics such as world cultures, community and careers, the five senses, and many more. These materials span 10 curricular areas and provide students with numerous activities to build skills needed in social studies, science, math, literacy and more!
Learning to make good social and personal choices as well as connections does not just happen.
It requires being exposed these important skills early on. My young students learn best by doing and that is exactly what these materials will provide for them.
