This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year one of our reading modules is learning all about community helpers. They learn about how community helpers all address big problems in our community, and the goal is for students to understand how they can also be helpers in our school community. We hope our students see the world through the eyes of another person by reading books, dressing up as community helpers, and acting out how we can serve our community. Throughout the unit, we will discuss how community helpers show compassion in their communities by seeing and filling needs and making sure that everyone in our community is safe and cared for.
